Events Crew celebrates 20 years!
Events Crew, the event specialists providing infrastructure, installation, sales, logistics and management are celebrating 20 years since their formation in August 2003. Since that time, Events Crew have supported numerous World Class events throughout the UK and Ireland.
Events Crew were formed in Sherborne and grew from the team’s love of events and desire to support their local community, initially helping on a part time basis with Tinneys Youth Club and Sherborne Castle Fireworks. However, when IRONMAN came to Sherborne in 2003, this offered the chance to work on a different type of event. As such Events Crew decided to incorporate and became ‘official’ in 2003.
Half IRONMAN Sherborne (now 70.3) gave Events Crew their first taste of working on an international sporting event, with 1500 athletes descending on Sherborne to test themselves against the half Ironman distance. Events Crew supplied labour and infrastructure to support the team organising Ironman following its move from Llanberis.
It is testament to the job that was done on that first IRONMAN that Events Crew still support IRONMAN 20 years later and now cover Stafford, Bolton, Swansea, Weymouth, and Tenby as ‘Official Event Partner’ and ‘Official Logistics Supplier’ of the IRONMAN UK & Ireland Series.

We have supported over 60 IRONMAN events and will continue to support the UK events for the future.”
Alongside IRONMAN, Events Crew support many other large and small scale events, continuing to support Sherborne Castle Fireworks until 2019, ending on the 40th year. Events Crew also supported Pack Monday Fair in Sherborne creating a new modern feel to the event, adding music nights, and extending the historic festival to over 4 days. Events Crew continue to support locally and are now Platinum Sponsors of North Dorset Rugby Football Club.

In 2020, when Covid hit and the events industry came to a halt, what could have turned into a disaster for an events company offered an opportunity to diversify and grow whilst supporting many local authorities in their efforts to battle the pandemic. Events Crew became a key supplier and partner during these testing times, supplying barriers and structures throughout the country as authorities worked to keep people safe.
Events Crew have expanded their transport logistics offering and now transport equipment for 3rd parties to many locations and events nationwide, offering the same time sensitive, excellent service. This role includes over 160 articulated lorry loads of fencing and tower lights to Glastonbury Festival for Speedy Services and a control vehicle to support the Coronation of King Charles III amongst others. The client list is impressive and includes the London Marathon, Summer Solstice, the Boat Race, Ride London, Gone Wild Festival, Weston Beach Race and the Great Dorset Steam Fair amongst hundreds of others.
Events Crew will be moving in to a new, purpose-built Headquarters and storage facility on Henstridge Airfield at the end of 2023 and combined with over ten acres of outdoor storage space offers a host of new opportunities. There will also be a dedicated sales facility for new and used fencing and barriers.
Brent is optimistic for the future “If you’d asked me 20 years ago when we set up Events Crew, what our future held, I don’t think I could have told you. The world has gone through some seismic changes, but we have always adapted and worked to continue our growth and business. Whilst our vision is clearer for the next 20 years, we will continue to apply the same ethos and service we always have. There are exciting times ahead and I can’t wait to see what happens. One thing I do know is that we will be having a party to celebrate after the season eases off!”
