Events Crew – Winter 2020 Update
After a particularly challenging year that saw the cancellation of the entire event season, Events Crew have not only survived but have gone from strength-to-strength diversifying into other areas that played on their renowned experience and reputation.
Events Crew Traffic @EVCTraffic has become the formal Traffic Management side of the business, led by newly promoted Operations Manager, Russell Bollen. The traffic business will be based in the South West but will offer specialist services across the country where required. The in-house team can provide Traffic Management CAD Drawings, Consultation, Sign Design and Manufacture. The traffic team will also be providing local Winter Maintenance, Road Sweeping and Abnormal Load Escort Vehicles across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.
The Transport, Tower Lights, Temporary Fencing, Toilets and Trackway parts of the business have also performed well throughout this testing period. Events Crew have supplied some events but mainly the NHS, Local Authorities, Construction and for Social Distancing.
2020 has been a challenging year, but thanks to good planning, some quick changes to working practices and a look at the core services supplied to the Events Industry, Events Crew have moved into a new phase of the business. With events due back at some point in 2021 hopefully there will be have some exciting times ahead.
Brent Mitchell commented: “I am incredibly pleased with how we have responded in 2020 and where we are now. The new structure will add to our core strengths. I have to thank the team for their dedication and hard work throughout the year and it has been a great source of pride that we have been able to promote members of the team to new positions of authority.”
He went on to say: ‘’We have worked safely throughout the first and second lockdowns as key workers and will adapt to the latest challenges brought by this pandemic. It is clearly going to be an incredibly challenging few months ahead of us as we enter in to 2021.’’
Events Crew are based in Henstridge, Somerset and have a custom-built facility with extensive internal and external storage, meeting rooms and offices. A second facility offers increased storage capacity for non-mechanical equipment and is close to the main site.
