Events Crew provide professional event support for a number of prestigious clients throughout the UK. These events include the UK IronMan Triathlon, UK IronMan 70.3, Great Dorset Steam Fair, Gillingham Festival and of course the Sherborne Fireworks Extravaganza amongst many others. Events Crew also support smaller events from black-tie charity balls, weddings, parties and discos for a range of clients.
The origins of Events Crew can be traced back to Sherborne Youth Centre in the mid 1980s. It was as a young DJ at SYC that Events Crew founder, Brent Mitchell, was first bitten by the entertainment bug, along with a number of his friends who are involved with Events Crew today. Brent went on to Manchester University and was involved in the events side of the Student Union, putting on a large number of bands and discos.
While developing a highly successful career in the construction industry, Brent Mitchell based himself back in Sherborne and, along with his old friends from the Youth Centre, began supporting youth and community projects in the local area. As the size of the events grew (particularly the annual Fireworks Extravaganza), Brent increasingly called on his friends from Manchester to join the Sherborne crew in running events and Events Crew was born as an informal volunteer collective.
Events Crew was formed as a Limited Company in 2003 and has gone from strength to strength providing ‘event solutions’. The company has invested heavily in equipment and assets, including a mobile stage, marquees, tower lights, fencing and transport. The biggest asset we have is the team. The wide range of technical skills and experience that the crew brings, coupled with their enthusiasm, ensures success.
